JAMMU: Two BJP ministers Choudhary Lal Singh and Chader Prakash Ganga who were in eyes of storm for listening to the grievances Rasana village protesters today submitted their resignations to the party chief, sources said.
The two BJP ministers Choudhary Lal Singh Minister for Forest, Environment, Ecology and Chader Prakash Ganga Minister for Industries have submitted their resignations to the party but yet there is no confirmation about their final outcome.
Though neither Lal Singh nor Chander Prakash Ganga were available for comments, however sources closed to BJP MLA from Basohli Lal Singh said ” Singh is pained at the gruesome rape and murder of an eight year old Bakerwal nomad girl in Rasana jungle.He always rendered help to the victim family in bring the culprits responsible for this heinous crime behind the bars. However, some vested interests has launched a vicious campaign to malign his image by projecting Singh as siding with the sympathizers of accused.
Perturbed over unpleasant developments taking place in the region which is handiwork of those who wanted to revive their extinct political career by engineering a polarization in the sate on communal lines, Singh has preferred to tender resignation, added sources.
Singh as a Forest Minister has initiated several steps to protect green gold from being plundered by the land grabbers who earlier were flourishing in the state with impunity. Under his command several thousands Kanals of forest land was recovered from the land grabber. Singh pro active approach has led to massive plantation as well as fencing and demarcation of forest land in the state ” There is nothing wrong in meeting with protesters as local MLA he is duty bound to meet anyone. But,mere for political mileage some politicians stoop low to link Singh with the accused persons. ” Ever since the minister act tough against those involved in grabbing the forest land, there is one after the other allegations came against him. The conspirators are busy hatching conspiracy to damage the ever growing stature of Lal Singh in the state,said an insider in the BJP.
Referring to Singh and Ganga resignations, a senior BJP leader said “Peace and communal harmony are essentials elements of growth and development in the state and BJP is always ready to sacrifice for keeping intact the communal harmony for unhindered growth and prosperity in the state.
