Manoj Sinha on Sunday urged officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau to ensure that every investigation and prosecution undertaken by the agency stands firm under judicial scrutiny while reinforcing public trust in the system.

The Lieutenant Governor was speaking after inaugurating the new ACB Headquarters at Sidhra and the ACB APKS Branch at Awantipora. He said the newly constructed facilities symbolize the Union Territory’s resolve to strengthen transparency and build a corruption-free administrative system.

Sinha remarked that Jammu and Kashmir has moved beyond mediocrity and is now aspiring for a brighter future. “A strong belief has emerged among people that a golden era lies ahead, and fulfilling that vision is also the responsibility of the officers and staff of the Anti-Corruption Bureau,” he said.

Highlighting governance reforms introduced in recent years, Sinha credited the leadership of Narendra Modi for establishing technology-driven and faceless mechanisms aimed at eliminating corruption, reducing delays and ensuring services reach citizens directly.

Calling for faster investigations, the LG said delayed justice weakens anti-corruption efforts and undermines outcomes. He also urged ACB officials to carry out regular self-audits and strengthen inter-agency cooperation, noting that corruption networks often extend across multiple jurisdictions.

“Corruption is not just a loss to the public exchequer, it steals opportunities from youth, security from families and dignity from society,” Sinha said, stressing the need for collective efforts to build a corruption-free Jammu and Kashmir.

The new APKS Branch at Awantipora will support the ACB Police Station in Anantnag and handle cases from districts across South Kashmir. ACB Director Shakti Kumar Pathak said the upgraded infrastructure would improve operational efficiency and strengthen vigilance operations in the region.
