Welcoming Police action against one Swarna, Residents of Qasim Nagar unanimously said “Arrested woman has a history of crime which warrants curtailment of her freedom in the larger interest of society”. Entire area has been defamed with her shameless activities and we have started a signature campaign to impress upon police administration for sealing her den of human trafficking and drugs addiction in residential area, say the residents.
JAMMU: In a swift action, the police team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station has raided a brothel house at Qasim Nagar locality and rescued a minor girl from the clutches of a notorious woman one Swarna against whom several criminal cases including human trafficking already stand registered at various police stations.
Sources in police said, “On Wednesday, a person namely Kuldeep Kumar and his wife from Katra approached the Bagh-e-Bahu police seeking help to rescue their minor daughter allegedly held hostage in a brothel by Swarna. Acting, on the complaint, the police led by SHO Bagh e Bahu Inspector Surinder Raina swung into action and raided the house of Swarna.
On seeing the police team, the pimp along with minor girl tried to flee from the roof top, however, the alert cops managed to rescue the victim from their possession after a brief chase. In the raid besides Swarna w/o Ashok Kumar, one woman namely Pooja along with a pimp namely Shankar were also arrested.
Without sharing details, Inspector Raina while confirming recovery of a minor missing girl from illegal possession of Swarna Devi house at Qasim Nagar said “The case is under investigation to arrest everyone who sexually exploits a minor girl”. Whosoever high and influential, no one will be spared and we insure that the poor parents as well as their minor girl get the justice, he added.
However, reliable sources in police said “The medical examination of minor girl has indicted that the girl was subjected to repeated sexual abuse as well as intense drugs addiction. Accused Swarna has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act as well as other relevant sections of laws for allegedly forcing a minor girl into prostitution.

- FIR No 94/2016 u/s 376, 120-B of RPC registered at Channi Himmat Police Station for forcing a girl into gang rape in 2016.

“Worthwhile to mention here that Swarna and her gang enjoy the support of some influential businessmen as well as blacksheep in police and civil administration and earlier also when she was booked in human trafficking cases, she used her ugly clout to extricate herself from the long arm of law. Even, this woman is notorious for defaming those cops who don’t follow her dictats, says renowned social activist”, Prof SK Bhalla.
Narrating tale of sorrow, Kuldeep Kumar father of the rescued minor girl while interacting with JK Global News said “For the last one and half month, his daughter who is a minor went missing from their place of residence in Katra. They lodged a complaint at concerned police station. In the mean time, through their personal efforts they came to know about the presence of their daughter inside the house of Swarna in Bahu fort area.
With family members we arrived at Swarn’s house and tried to free our daughter from her clutches but they outnumbered us. Later, we approached the nearby police station Bagh e Bahu who instantly came to our rescue, added Kuldeep Kumar father of rescued minor girl.
Meanwhile, the residents of Qasim Nagar are overwhelmed with the prompt action of police against Swarna. Extending their gratitude to honest police officers SDPO East and SHO Inspector Surinder Raina for much awaited action against Swarna, the residents said that enough is enough and now we want an end to this den of shame which since long has been flourishing as oozing point of prostitution as well as drugs trade in the area inhabited generally by law abiding citizens.
