JAMMU: The Ragoora-Majeen stretch of NHW 44 which was notorious for drugs and sleaz around hookah bars and earned ignonimity at the hands of district administration last year resulting into sealing of 32 commercial establishments today again shot back to limelight when team of JDA in a crackdown demolished 6 structures and sealed 8 commercial as well as residential structures including one infamous Orange Restaurant.
The anti encroachment drive was started under the supervision of Vice Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra, whereas the enforcement team was personally led by Tehsildar Zone A&B Ranjeet Singh alongwith police force and sealed around 8 structures and demolished six which were constructed un-authorisedly by encroachers on JDA land.
The team also sealed one Orange Bar and restaurant which was still operating in concealed manner despite the fact it was sealed last year by JMC under the direction of DC, Jammu.
Sources in JDA said that the authorities was receiving several complaints regarding re-surfacing of illegal commercial structures along roadside in Ragoora-Majeen besides construction of residential structures in the area on JDA land. Taking cognizance, anti encroachelment drive was strated today with assistance of police and paramilitary force peronsnels in which eight structures were sealed and six were demolished.
