The Monsoon Session of Parliament continued to witness repeated disruptions, with the ruling NDA and the Opposition failing to break the deadlock over key contentious issues. Proceedings in both Houses were repeatedly adjourned amid sloganeering and protests, stalling legislative business. In an effort to end the impasse, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju held talks with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, while the government indicated that senior ministers could make statements to facilitate normal functioning of Parliament. However, no breakthrough had been reported till the close of the day’s proceedings.
