The anti graft body on Thursday arrested one Patwari namely Ganderab Singh, posted at Halqa, Thalora of Tehsil Majalta in District Udhampur red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000. Chowkidar, Kuldeep Kumar was also arrested in the trap case
As per reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption has received a complaint from the victim against the arrested revenue officials for demanding gratification of Rs 10,000 for incorporating correction of his name in revenue records.
Upon receipt of complaint discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 03/2025 u/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption, Act, 1988 and section 61(2) BNS, 2023 was registered at P/S ACB Udhampur and investigation was taken-up.
Following registration of FIR, the team of ACB led by a DySP rank officer laid a trap which led to the arrest of accused Patwari alongwith Chowkidar.
