JAMMU: The police teams in coordination with Revenue authorities today raided homes of several revenue officials, properties dealers, land grabbers including a RTI activist namely Mohd. Sadiq Poswal.
Entire operation is launched under the supervision of higher authorities of civil and police department.
As per available reports, the raids were conducted pertaining to the missing land records of village Chowadhi for which the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Raghav Langar had lodged FIR police last year in the month of Nov.
The raids were also conducted at the residences of notorious land grabbers and colonizers who developed illegal colonies after encroaching upon state land in Chowadhi village in Jammu.
Till the filling of this news item, the raids and searches were underway. Though the higherups of concerned departments refused to divulge details, however, sources confirming the series of raids said ” Searches of premises of identified suspects are underway and more elaborative picture will be available in late evening”.
Meanwhile, M.S.Poswal when contacted said “The raid on his premises is an act of victimization aimed to “gag his voice and activism” which he had undertaken to “unmask’ the high and mighty involved in land frauds”.
Meanwhile, the reliable sources in administration told JKGN that the scope of these raids will be further broaden in comings days to tighten noose around those sharks which are developing illegal colonies after encroaching upon major portion of state and forest lands.
