JAMMU: As part of relentless campaign to weed out menace of drugs from Jammu with a focus on pockets which are notorious for it’s sale and consumption, the SDPO (East) Syeed Zaheer Abbas under the supervision of SSP, Jammu Chandan Kohli has strengthened it’s surveillance grid in Majeen, Ragoora, Narwal, Transport Nagar and Bhathindi area.
The move has led to unprecedented arrest of number of drug peddlers alongwith drug substance in the mentioned areas. In its relentless efforts, the Jammu Police, yet achieved another success by recovering 147 grams of charas from a drug trafficker accused at a naka near Narwal area in the jurisdictions of Police Station, Bahu Fort.
As per reports, police team of Police Post Narwal under the supervision of SDPO East and led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspector Nayat Ali assisted by I/C PP Narwal SI Achal Rana while on naka duty at transport nagar Narwal area rounded up one suspect who behaved suspiciously on seeing police teams. On search, 147 grams of charas was recovered from him accused possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 84/22 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act registered at PS Bahu Fort and accused got arrested. The arrested accused has identified as Asif Zaman S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Tungali, Tehsil Gool District Ramban.
Pertinently, the Jammu police has nabbed number of drug peddlers from Transport Nagar Narwal and it’s adjoining areas in past few months
