JAMMU: By order of the Lieutenant Governor, the Registrar of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) has been shunted out from his fiefdom.
The much awaited action has been initiated by the LG’s administration vide it’s order No 824-JK(GAD) of 2024 dated 13/3/2024 by cutting short extension period of Registrar, Jatinder Khajuria. This administrative action has sent a loud and clear message to the Higher Education Department that LG means business.
“On the completion of 5 years tenure, the Registrar was given another extension of 5 years. However, his stint at CLUJ has been slashed after the Raj Bhawan has taken serious note of undesired happenings in CLUJ”, says highly placed reliable sources.
Worthwhile to mention here that JK Global News through a series of news items had highlighted the chronic academic as well as administrative mess prevailing in the CLUJ which so far miserably failed to realise the objectives for which it was established.
There was strong discontent brewing among academicians of constituent colleges of CLUJ over the functioning of Registrar especially for his failure to start any skill based courses besides winding up of all integrated courses.
There was also strong discontenment against the Registrar allegedly for being governed by a coterie who too have been clinging to the CLUJ since its formation in 2017.
It would not be out of place to mention here that the Registrar, Jatinder Khajuria in 2022 was awarded medal for excellence in exemplary service when his younger sibling was posted as Special Secretary in the office of the then Chief Secretary, AK.Mehta.
