It has been an extraordinary educational experience to watch and analyse the five days of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Assembly session. Kudos to our esteemed legislators especially the new comers who burnt mid night oil to create a history of sorts. It is the mischief of media for projecting for collar pulling, high decible shouting and all the unparliamentary conduct which became the top choice of National as well as social media. Playing to the gallery and hogging the limelight apparently appears to be the agenda and for fulfilling the same over Honourables can go to any extent. Yeh rozie, roti ka mamla hei.
An issue which is being repeatedly revisited with all vociferousness despite the stance of higher authorities and judiciary is being raised with all ferocity by all factions to keep their vote bank in good humor.
It appears that both our politicians and public are in unison to relish this ruckus of jugglery which is remotely bothered about societal Issues -rising prices of essential commodities, drugs, bijli, Pani, berozgari, sadak, talim etc that are more vital for healing the wounds of our common citizenry. This high voltage drama suits the rulling as also opposition so that they can distract the attention of the voters from all the the big tall promises made in their respective Manifestoes. It is clear crystal clear that our civil society, so called pseudo intellectuals and media by and large have preferred discreet silence on the aforesaid societal issues.
The Speaker in all his wisdom has adjourned the maiden session and the common man on the street questions what good this elected Govt is delivering when not even an iota of welfare measures and public good has been discussed for a second. God save us.
