KATHUA: There is remarkable achievement made by the Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes Enforcement (Kathua) H. Q. Lakhanpur in realising penalties from the defaulters of GST.
As per the details available, the enforcement wing Kathua of Sales Tax under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner during the financial year 2023-24 has realised penalties to the tune of Rs.1.89 crores during February- March 2023-24 against 0.67 crores for the same period in the year 2022-23 with remarkable growth of 183.20%.
Interestingly, the enforcement team has realized penalty from the defaulters Rs.5.30 crores during 2023-24 against Rs.3.30 crores in the last year.
The major commodities against which the penalties were imposed during the period include cases without proper documents, marble/ granite, metal scrap, furniture products, tobacco products, and other defaults and surpassing all previous records the office of the Deputy Commissioner State Taxes, Lakhanpur registered an increase in revenue realization of 60.6% as compared to the last fiscal year.
The whole exercise was carried out by the staff of Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Enforcement (Kathua) Lakhanpur under the close supervision of Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Enforcement Lakhanpur, Pardeep Singh Manhas, JKAS under overall supervision of additional Commissioner State Taxes Namrata Dogra, JKAS and P. K. Bhat, Commissioner State Taxes Department.
