JAMMU : The Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Avny Lavasa has served an ultimatum of 10 days to people for surrendering their arms which are without valid license. In an order issued, the DC warns of actions under penal laws against those who found in possession of arms without valid license after the expiry of ten days.
“Whereas, this office vide No. 50-55/DMJ/22 dated 05-08-2022, had directed for deposition of Arms, the licenses of which were not uploaded on NDAL-ALIS portal or did not have a UIN or were issued by SDMs/Tehsildars or not renewed due to whatever reason.” “Whereas, it has come to the notice of this office that there still are a number of people possessing weapons despite the above mentioned discrepancies in their Arms licenses” reads an order issued by DC Jammu.
“Now therefore, through the medium of this notice, last opportunity is given to anybody possessing any weapon wherein he/she does not have a valid Arms license to deposit his/her weapon in the Police Station concerned within a period of ten (10) days, failing which, action as warranted under law shall be initiated against that defaulter.” the order further stated.
