JAMMU: As part of its relentless efforts to enforce traffic discipline on roads, the traffic police Jammu on Tuesday launched special drive against the over speeding vehicles.
For this purpose, the traffic police used ‘Speed Radar Guns’ which were recently procured by the Traffic Department to check menace of over speeding vehicles on road and especially on Highway.
The drive was started on Sidhara NHW under the supervision of SP Traffic Jammu Pardeep Singh, JKPS. Underlining the use of Speed Radar Guns’, SP City Traffic said ” Over speeding is one of the major cause fatal accidents on roads and it’s an offence under Motor Vehicle Act”. This menace which runs rampantly on the roads was under serious consideration of the department which finally led to the procurement of Speed Radar Guns. Henceforth, the motorists who caught driving on roads beyond permissible limit will be penalised as per the law, he added.
