SAMBA: Underlying the importance of appropriate behavioural patern as cementing force between public and police, the Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has directed all Station House Officers(SHOs) and police posts incharge to treat complainants with due respect at Police Stations and Police Posts.

The necessary directions were given by SSP while chairing crime review meeting. He directed the supervisory officers to ensure that there is proper mechanism in place at all Police Stations and Police Posts to examine the complaints.

Furthermore, SSP instructed SHOs and Incharge PPs to personally examine the complaints in the presence of a Police Station/Police Posts level board comprising of highly experienced professional Police officers and MHCs (Munshi) so as to ascertain the nature of complaint whether cognizable or non-cognizable and take appropriate action under law.

In addition, SSP Samba also directed all the officers to create people-friendly atmosphere at every Police Station/Police Post to dispel prevailing hesitation among the public especially complainants  and pave way for them to walkin at police stations and share their grievances without fear of being treated indifferently.

SSP Samba further directed the SDPOs, SHOs and Incharge PPs to ensure that no innocent person is harassed while conducting investigations and no innocent is falsely implicated in any case.

SSP Samba said that to look into women’s complaints, besides Women Cell at Samba, there is Women Help Desk established at every Police Station and women complainants be accorded great respect at the Police Stations and Police Posts.

The meeting was attended by all officers besides SHOs and PPs incharge.
