Mendhar: As part of the Skill India Initiative, a “Nursing Cadre” for 45 girl students culminated in Poonch district which was being conducted from 31 May to 18 July 2018 at Govt Degree College Mendhar.
The aim of the course was to motivate girls to take up the noble profession of nursing as a career option as well as to equip them with basic skills needed to maintain health and hygiene in their localities/ villages.
Besides imparting basic training of nursing, they were also educated about various common weather related diseases, their prevention and first aid. The cadre helped the girls in developing confidence and understanding to improve health care standards in their families and localities. The girls were informed about the wide scope of the profession as nursing is a well paid and well respected profession across the world wherein scope for job opportunities is immense both in government and private sectors. The Successful candidates have received recognised certificate on completion of the course.
Army in the past few months has conducted a series of skill development courses in collaboration with recognised institutes which has resulted in enhancing the skill based employment generation for the youth. Such initiatives will usher an environment of peace, stability and prosperity in the State of J&K. The participants, their parents and the local civil administrative applauded the efforts of the Indian Army in conduct of these type of counseling sessions for the benefit of the Awaam.
