Zulfkar visits Sri Ranbir Multi Lateral (SRML) Model Higher Secondary School
Jammu: Government contemplates to earmark educational institutions according to the academic streams so that they emerge as seat of excellence in that particular stream and students can be benefitted accordingly with advanced learning”, Minister for School Education, Haj & Auqaf and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said this during his visit to Sri Ranbir Multi Lateral (SRML) Model Higher Secondary School, here today.
During his visit, the Minister went around the school premises and took stock of available facilities and infrastructure besides inquired about the students enrollment and sanctioned staff strength.
Interacting with the students, Zulfkar asked them to be forthcoming and strive for excellence in education. He asked them to work hard to achieve their goals and said that only those who work with honesty, dedication and vision for progress, leave a mark on the society.
He impressed upon the school faculty to make teaching-learning process more student centric and directed for adopting activity based learning so as to ensure maximum participation of students in the process.
Emphasis should be laid on academics, sports and ensuring that students pursue their hobbies simultaneously for overall growth, the Minister asked the teachers.
Citing the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment, the Minister directed school authorities for enhancing the sanitation facilities with due care on landscaping. He also instructed the school administration for maintaining the green spaces in the school premises.
The Minister asked the Principal SRML that the online admission process should be initiated from the next academic session for the convenience of the students besides digitization of school records and library. He also directed for interconnecting the libraries of different schools through internet for the benefit of students and staff.
He also directed the concerned to ensure that bio-metric attendance of students and staff is maintained and is also connected to main server of the Directorate office.
Our target is to revamp the existing education system to make it compatible with the present day challenges” he asserted and said that government is in the process of implementation of a comprehensive road map to overcome the infrastructural gap in the schools.
Zulfkar directed to submit the proposal for infrastructural requirements including construction of auditorium, botanical garden, zoological park, for the revival of the school.
He further directed the concerned to constitute a high level committee to assess and accredit government education institutions in the state on the basis of available infrastructure and logistics so that appropriate funding is earmarked for developing the requisite infra and facilities for the students accordingly.
