JAMMU: A massive fire broke out at Shiv Market near Jammu Railway Station on Sunday night, October 25, reducing nearly 40 shops to ashes. The blaze, reportedly triggered by a short circuit, quickly spread through the closely packed market, engulfing adjoining shops.
Firefighters rushed to the spot and launched a prolonged operation to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading further. Around 35 to 40 shops were reported gutted in the incident. No loss of life was reported, while the exact extent of property damage was being assessed.
