JAMMU: In a stern warning to the land grabbers and those indulged in unlawful constructions without approved plan, the Jammu Development Authority today conducted major drive and sealed seven illegal buildings which were constructed on JDA land in Lower Roop Nagar.
Giving details the JDA sources said that buildings sealed includes 2 residential structures, 5 shops and 1 residential plot falling under Khasra No 346 village Paloura, Tehsil Jammu North.
TheĀ sealing drive was carried by Enforcement wing team led by concerned Tehsildar Ranjit Singh with assistance of Police under the control of Director Land Management JDA, Kusum Chib and under the over all supervision of Vice Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra.
The drive was conducted successfully inspite of odds created by some nuisance and willful violators of illegal constructions.
Meanwhile, the Vice-chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra in a strict warning to perpetrators to refrain from encroaching/interfering into JDA lands and informed that such drives will be conducted in future with more intensity. He further appealed the citizens that don’t indulge in commercial and residential constructions without the approved plan as such illegal constructions will be sealed or demolished at the owners risk. Further, the new VC has appealed citizens to apprise the JDA authorities in case if any employee of enforcement or BOCA team from JDA indulge in encouraging illegal constructions without approved permission.
It’s worth to mention here that prior to arrival of Pankaj Magotra as VC JDA, large number of commercial buildings were constructed by wilful violators in Chowadhi, Birpur, Vijaypur near Toll Plaza, Bishnah, Jagti, Sidhara and Bantalab area. These illegal constructions were constructed in broadday light right under the nose of BOCA teams of JDA allegedly due to large scale corruption in shielding these illegal constructions.
