    Dr Jitendra for expediting pace of Centrally sponsored schemes

    Jammu: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has called upon the State Administration to expedite the pace of various Central Schemes, so that the targets for each of them could be achieved within the timeline stipulated by the Modi Government on all-India basis.

    In his capacity as Member of Parliament from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency,while reviewing the current status of  various Central Schemes during two different DISHA meetings, held on the same day, for district Kathua and district Reasi, respectively, Dr Jitendra Singh, in particular, laid emphasis on Government of India’s flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). He however expressed satisfaction that following the intervention in the monthly PRAGATI Video Conference meeting held by Prime Minister Modi, the “Swachch Bharat” campaign has picked up very appreciably in the last few months. He said, it is a matter of pride that the town of Katra Vaishno Devi has been included in the 100 iconic destinations to be developed across India as a part of “Swachch Bharat” campaign.

    Dr Jitendra Singh also called for early resolution of the ongoing strike and protest by Anganwadi Workers and Patwaris which was also hindering the pace of work of many a Central Scheme. Referring to Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), he said, even though the tendering process of the State Government has got delayed for certain reasons, the scheme now seems to have picked up keep pace with the stipulated timeline.

    Dr Jitendra  Singh took detailed review of Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in districts Kathua and Reasi at  meetings of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA).

    The Kathua DISHA  meeting was attended by all the district Officers implementing the centrally sponsored schemes.At the outset,DDC gave detailed resume of achievement each centrally sponsored schemes through Power Point Presentation.He threadware discussed latest status of each development project in the district.In the meeting Dr Jitendra Singh Hon’ble MP directed all the concerned Officers to create awareness among the people about various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by the Government of India for the upliftment of poor and weaker section of the society.He reviewed the status of  schemes viz.MGNREGA,PMAY Grameen/Urban,IWMP,NRWDP,NSAP,SBM (G/U),PMGSY,PMKSY,PMFBY,RKVY,DDAY,NHM,CRF,BADP, City and Town Plan,SSA,Mid day Meal,RAMSA,ICDS etc.Besides this, he also reviewed the status of construction of bunkers in the district.He appreciated the achievement of each scheme and directed the implementing Officers to work with dedication so that the benefit of the scheme reaches to the needy.

    At the Reasi meeting, Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy G IAS made power point presentation depicting the achievements under Centrally Sponsered Sechemes like  PMGSY, NRDWP, Sarav Shiksha Abhiyan ,Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan , Mid Day Meal , MGNREGA, Swatchh Bharat Mission Gramin ,NRLM , National Social Assistance Programmes of oldage pension scheme,widow pension scheme, disabled pension scheme,pre -matric scholarship schemes, ICDS scheme , PM fasal Bima Yonana, PMKSY ,DDUGJY scheme, PM Ujjwala and NHM scheme. The difficulties being faced were also discussed and solutions found for smooth implementation of these schemes for improving the lot of poor peoples Hon ‘ble Chairman Disha Dr Jatinder Singh  suggested that success stories of these initiatives may be picturised for popularization amongst other beneficiaries who can follow the suit .
