FSSAI raps Dabur over 100 % purity claims

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has prohibited the sale of select Dabur food products carrying “100%” claims, saying such labelling is misleading and not permitted under existing food safety regulations. The action covers products including Dabur Honey, Ghee and Coconut Oil marketed with claims suggesting absolute purity. According to the regulator, the term “100%” is undefined under the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018, and could create a false impression among consumers. The crackdown is part of FSSAI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency in food labelling and curb misleading marketing practices, while ensuring consumers receive accurate and verifiable information on packaged food products.
