Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has introduced modern mechanised techniques to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve civic services across the city. As part of the initiative, JMC has deployed advanced pothole patching machines for quick and efficient road repairs and has also begun using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled cameras to monitor sanitation and cleanliness.
Commissioner JMC, Dr. Devansh Yadav, demonstrated the functioning of the pothole patching machine during a live event and said “Primary objective is to ensure immediate repair of potholes that frequently emerge during and after the monsoon season”.
Highlighting objective of introducing high tech machines for civic solutions, Dr. Yadav asserted that timely intervention would help prevent accidents, improve road safety and facilitate smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
Further elaborating endeavours of JMC towards cleaner Jammu, Dr. Yadav added that AI-powered surveillance will enable real-time monitoring of cleanliness standards, helping civic authorities identify problem areas and respond swiftly.
The initiative is aimed at making Jammu cleaner, safer and more citizen-friendly through the adoption of technology-driven governance.
