In a strict action reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy against drugs, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur has dismissed Constable Arjun Sharma (No. 886/U, PID No. EXJ-126992) from service for his involvement in a narcotics case.

The dismissal follows a departmental enquiry linked to FIR No. 170/2025 registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station Rehmbal. The constable was apprehended during naka checking by a police team from PP Tikri, during which contraband heroin was recovered from his possession. The seized substance was later confirmed by forensic examination.

Authorities termed the misconduct as grave and unbecoming of a police official. After completion of due procedure, including issuance of a show-cause notice, the response submitted by the constable was found unsatisfactory.

Acting under Rule 359 of the J&K Police Rules, SSP Udhampur ordered his immediate dismissal, reiterating the department’s commitment to integrity and public trust.
