Chhattisgarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that development is the only counter to all kinds of violence and conspiracy.

Speaking in Naxal-affected Chhattisgarh, Modi said, “Main maanta hoon kisi tarah ki hinsa ka, har tarah ki saajish ka, ek hi jawab hai-Vikas. Isi vikas se viksit hua vishvaas har tarah ki hinsa ko khatam kar deta hai (I believe that response to any kind of violence and cospiracy is development. The trust developed by this development can end all kinds of violence).”

He was addressing a public rally a public meeting at Jayanti Stadium in Bhilai after inaugurating the modernised and expanded Bhilai steel plant.

“Bhilai did not only make steel but also lives and society and the country. This new modern steel plant will now help develop new India,” he said at the rally.

Modi also took part in programmes in Naya Raipur – the upcoming capital city of the state.

The prime minister inaugurated Integrated Command and Control Centre at Naya Raipur. “Naya Raipur has become the country’s first greenfield smart city. Water, electricity, street lights, sewage, transport and security of the city all will be managed from this centre. This will be an example for smart cities across the country,” Modi said.

Pm Modi also showered praise Chief Minister Raman Singh’s government in Chhattisgarh. Earlier where there were no roads, now airports are being constructed along with roads, he said.

“There were 7 lakh houses in Chhattisgarh where there was no electricity connection. Under Saubhagya Schem, 3.5 lakh households have been provided electricity connection. There is now electricity in 1100 villages where electricity had not reached. This light is illuminating development and confidence in every house,” he said.

Thereafter, in Bhilai, he inaugurated Raipur-Jagdalpur air service, lay the foundation stone for the new building of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhilai, besides dedicating to the nation the expanded and modernised Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) of SAIL.
