    Distress stranded J&K residents need evacuation on priority: Ch Zulfikar

    JAMMU: Expressing concern over plight of residents of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir who are stranded in different parts of the country in large since the imposition of lockdown, prominent Pir Panjal leader and former Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali has implored upon the government for devising an effective plan to bring them back at home.

    Describing the situation as deplorable, Zulfikar said that the large number of students, labourers and traders are struck in different parts of the country which includes Delhi, HP, Rajastan, UP, Maharashtra, Punjab, Utrakhand where they are confronting inhospitable extreme weather as well as depleting financial resources and anxiety due to ever increasing corona virus pandemic.

    Large numbers of distress calls are coming from female students who are in agony and feeling depressed due to the situation caused by the lockdown. The situation is more worrisome in case of labourers, Zulfikar asserted.

    Stating that everyone desired to be with families during such emergency situations, Zulfikar urged the state administration for arrangement of special transport fleets to bring back home these stranded residents who are feeling relentless after holed up inside their rented accommodations for almost a month with a hope that the administration will reunite them with their families in the state.

    It’s worth to mentioned here that today 369 students with the help of state administration reached back home in UT of Ladakh and J&K who were stranded since lockdown at Kota in Rajasthan where they were studying in elite coaching centres.

    This step of state administration has rekindled hope among large number of labourers and students who are facing countless problems and eager to get back at home.
