Team of Anti Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested one Patwari in Samba and recovered Rs. 35 lakh amount from his car during search.
As per available reports, on receiving complaint from victim pertaining to demand of bribe by Patwari namely Sunil Kumar of Tehsil Dadui in Samba for correction in Girdawar, the ACB conducted discreet enquiry which corborated the demand of bribe by the revenue official. Accordingly a case FIR No. 19/2025 U/S 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up.
Consequently, a trap was laid during which the accused Patwari was caught red handed while accepting an amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant as part of initial installment of negotiated bribe amounting to Rs. 80,000.
Following the arrest of accused public servant, the team of ACB recovered huge amount of Rs 35 lakhs during search of his personal vehicle. Searches also conducted in the residential house of the accused public servant in presence of Magistrates.
Pertinent to mentioned that after the posting of Shakti Kumar Pathak, as Director ACB, the anti- graft organisation has made remarkable achievement in arrest of several corrupt public servants especially of revenue department red handed in succesful traps.
