    Bunch of new course on anvil in JU

    JAMMU: Moving ahead, Jammu University in it’s Academic Council today approved introduction of several new PG courses.

    The Academic Council which met under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manoj K. Dhar has endorsed the proposal for establishment of Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Department of Philosophy, Directorate of Hindi and two year Executive MBAProgrammeand Diploma in Museology & Archaeology.

    Prof. Dhar said that University is soon going to start an Institute of Science and Technology at Poonch Campus.

    The Academic council also decided to establish 7 centres of excellence in various research areas which will hugely benefit the faculty, researchers and students of the region as well as the UT.

    Others important decisions taken in academic Council  include approval to institution of Best Debator Trophy in the fond memory of Late Prof Shailender Singh Jamwal, former Dean Students Welfare, Alumni Association of the University of Jammu and starting the integrated M.Phil/Ph.D Programme in the University.
