New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Lieutenant Governor’s refusal to intervene in the IAS officer strike. “Union Govt has all the powers over IAS officers. Delhi is facing an unprecedented situation & LG is refusing to intervene. Requests PM with folded hands to get IAS officers to end strike so work in Delhi can restart,” the letter said.

Earlier, Kejriwal on Thursday took to Twitter to allege that the Office of the Delhi Lieutenant Governor was denying his brother permission to meet him.

“My brother has come all the way from Pune to meet me. However, he is not being allowed to. This is wrong,” Kejriwal tweeted.

On Wednesday, there was no end in sight for the unique dharna that’s being led by Arvind Kejriwal and three of his cabinet colleagues in the LG’s office.

He wrote on Twitter: “Good morning to all Delhiites. Good morning, the struggle to overcome the barriers to the development of Delhi’s development continues. Our self-realization is our strength.

Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia, the deputy CM wrote on Twitter: “Today is the third day of waiting for LG’s waiting room. They have not got the time to order the IAS officers to end the strike and to approve the ration file. Do not do anything for LG Electronics, since three days and their conscience is proof that the IAS strike is going on at the behest of LG.”

Sisodia further wrote: “From today, I am also sitting on indefinite fast for the people of Delhi to get their entitlements and to get the work done for them. Satyendra Jain’s fasting is also continuing since yesterday. Our self-confidence and public trust is our strength.”

He will be joining his colleague Satyendar Jain who started the his hunger strike yesterday.

Last night Kejriwal  had tweeted: “”Our 2nd nite at LG House. We r here becoz. We luv Del n we care for Del. We hv worked v hard for Del. We want Del to further improve. We feel shattered becoz many great initiatives getting stuck. Lets improve our beloved Del, LG Sir. N lets do it togethr (sic),” he tweeted.”

After the meeting ended around 6 pm on Monday, the chief minister said that he and his cabinet colleagues were going to stay at the waiting room of the L-G office as their demands were refused by Baijal.

Kejriwal has sought from Baijal his direction to IAS officers to end their strike, punishment to officers who struck work and approval to his government’s doorstep ration delivery scheme.
