    DDC inspects development works in Poonch, directs speedy completion

    Poonch: District Development Commissioner, Poonch Mohammed Aiyaz Asad today conducted a tour of Poonch town and inspected various developmental works being executed by various agencies there. During the tour, the DDC visited Indoor Sports Stadium, Krishi Vighyan Kendra, Town Hall and Border Block Library.

    He was accompanied by ACR Poonch, B.A Lone, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE, PWD (R&B), EO Municipality, senior scientist of KVK and other district officers.

    The DDC visited under construction Indoor Sports Stadium and Town Hall, Poonch and directed Executive Engineer, R&B to speed up the pace of work and complete it within specified time frame. He also directed to prepare DPR for Ground floor of Town Hall so that Municipal office can be shifted there as soon as possible.

    He also visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch and took stock of the agricultural research interventions and exposure being provided to the farmers. He asked the officers to conduct awareness programmes across the district for creating awareness among the farmers about latest varieties of seeds to increase farm productivity.

    The DDC, while inspecting the land identified for construction of Border Library in Poonch, asked Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) to finalize the DPR for starting construction work of the library.

    He also visited under construction Fruit Mandi Nangali Sahib (Dingla) and interacted with the representatives of the trade association and listened to their demands. He also inspected Kalai bridge construction and give timeline of two months to concerned department to complete the construction work.

    During the tour, the DDC also interacted with the various deputations to have a firsthand appraisal of the working of various departments as per the aspirations of people of these areas.

    In another development, the DDC surveyed a few places for providing parking facility in the Town and also setting up of a multilateral shopping complex for the public.

    While carrying inspection works of road from Poonch to Surankote, directions were issued to OC GREF for blacktopping of road at various patches on the highway especially at Kalai, making a culvert near Kalai Chashma, blacktopping of other stretches between Poonch to Surankote.
