Jammu: The rift between Deputy Commissioner Rohit Khajuria and attached CEO Kathua Nirmal Choudhary today took an ugly turn when the former allegedly apart from using unparliamentary language also hurled life threats to Prof Nirmal Choudhary.

As per the eye witness, Prof Choudhary when today visited the office of CEO Kathua to complete some pending work pertaining to his tenure as CEO. In the meantime, District Magistrate Khajuria accompanied by out of turn promoted CEO Aruna Sharma besides his security personals also reached at the spot and started insulting Prof Nirmal Choudhary without any reason.

“In full public view, DC Khajuria first used abusive language against me then in fit of anger threatened to kill me” said Prof Choudhary. When I objected to the erring behavior of Khajuria, he labeled me as drunker and called SHO for medical examination, added Prof Nirmal.

Later, the doctor in the District Hospital Kathua has confirmed no signs of liquor in Prof Nirmal as had been charged by none other than but District Magistrate Kathua Rohit Khajuria.

We found no liquor symptoms in Nirmal Choudhary who was brought here in the hospital for liquor test by the police at the behest of DM, said a doctor who diagnosed upon Prof Nirmal. However, he have high Blood pressure and was feeling frightened and restless, if we dont act swifty some serious happening could have happened to him, added doctor.

“I am aghast at the language and behavior of bureaucrat who’s entrusted with a job to administered entire district. Such behavior is unbecoming of a civil servant, rued Prof Nirmal.

Last month, CEO Nirmal Choudhary was attached by District Magistrate, Kathua by DC Rohit Khajuria with his office on the estrange allegations of a junior most officer of education department in the district which the aggrieved Prof Nirmal has termed as frivolous.

In the same day and same order, strangely the complainant namely Aruna Sharma was pushed out of way to the post of CEO Kathua, the move which has raised many eyebrows in the education department as well as in district Kathua.

Current CEO, it’s learnt that is considered very close to district administration and also enjoying clout of influential politician. This is evident from the fact that till date no action has been taken against Aruna Sharma for alleged swindling of Rs,6,74,908/- mid day meal funds whose bills and vouchers are still not traceable in the record. When Nirmal Choudhary dared to initiate enquiry against Aruna Sharma which is pending in the office of CEO since long, he was attached after hatching conspiracy, said an insider of district administration Kathua.

The way a senior bureaucrat has treated and insulted a senior teacher of the rank of CEO, the sanctity of the education department has been diminished which is not a healthy development for the teacher community, said Abhi Sharma, a social activists.

JKGN made several attempts to contact DM Kathua, Rohit Khajuria but he didn’t respond.
