JAMMU: Much acclaimed eviction drive of forest Department at Sunjawan compartment finally ends with suspension of one IFS officer besides sparked a misinformation campaign against one NGO which vigorously pursuing a PIL on encroachment of forest land in Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

There knee jerk reaction of Govt to suspend IFS officer for carrying eviction drive against one influential lady Doctor, have evoked strong resentment among IFS officers of J&K UT cadre.

“This act of Govt has demoralised the officers and officials of forest department” said one Conservator of Forest, who don’t wish to be named.

“Consequences of action against one influential encroacher of forest land is in public domain. Now, only God knows what strategy Babus at Civil Secretariat have in hands to evict 50 top most forest land grabbers in Jammu Division in compliance to the J&K High Court order” he added.

If sources are to believed, the action against DFO Alok Maurya was taken at the behest of a person who is sitting at powerful position in Delhi and remained colleague of the alleged influential lady doctor during service in GMC&H, Jammu.

Now, considering magnitude of the mess surrounding the issue, this not only indicts the influence of the land mafia operating on forest land but also the lackadaisical approach of the Govt towards influential forest land grabbers, reveals our sources.

This is evident from that fact that the name of SAVE NGO on whose PIL, the J&K High Court has ordered eviction of all encroachers from forest land was mischievously dragged in this 7 Kanals of encroached land merely to malign the reputation of its Chairperson.

“Following suspension of IFS officer Alok Maurya, DFO, Jammu, on Thursday, there was aggressive disinformation campaign in social media against SAVE NGO Chairperson Ms. Davinder Madan popularly knows as Rumpy Madan in social circles,” told an officer of Forest department.

This mess is a vicious plan of land mafia to scuttle High Court-monitored retrieval of forest land from encroachers in Jammu Division- sources.

Looking at sequence of events following retrieval of a prime piece of forest land from influential encroacher in Sunjawan area, reliable sources in Forest Department said “There is no plan in offing to touch big crocodiles sitting on encroached forest land”

With intrigues and conspiracies more confusion is underway to dilute entire matter of forest encroachment, alleged a senior most officer of forest Department preferring anonymity.

Investigation into photos of evicted encroached forest land received by JK Global News reveals startling revelations.

The mobile number which was mentioned with the name of Dr R. Madam on a board fixed in evicted forest land belongs to one Ms. Jyoti Mathur, who works as a Manager in Madan Hospital and Research Center, Gandhi Nagar. “Exhibiting traits of a perfect manager, Ms. Mathur when apprised about the details, pretends ignorance about it”.

Further moving ahead, when JKGN tried to contact Dr. Ravinder Madan who’s the owner of Madan Hospital, she remains elusive despite our repeated calls.

Pertaining to land records, our reliable sources reveals “Local of Sunjawan sold this prime piece of encroached forest land on stamp paper to Dr. Ravinder Madan, a renowned Gynecologist, and owner of Madan Hospital, Gandhi Nagar 30 years ago”.

“Dr. Madan is an influential Gynecologist whose writ runs large in corridors of power and everyone witness her show of influence ” avers an officer of Forest Deptt.

Recently, Dr Madan convert this big chunk land into Madaan Colony and got it divided into 6 marlas plots and sold to potential buyers while keeping 15 Marlas in own possesion for construction of a branch of her Hospital in Sunjawan”.

Meanwhile, Rumpy Madan clarified that simply mentioning Dr. Madan doesn’t prove that encroached land stands on my name or SAVE NGO.

Dr. Ravinder Madan and Rumpy Madan are two different identities having no family and organizational association. Mischievous mongers needs to verify facts before publishing news items -Rumpy Madan, Chairperson SAVE NGO.
We tried to seek view of Commissioner-Secretary, Forest Dept, Sanjeev Verma on the issue, however, he neither responded to our watsapp message nor calls.
