    Governor inaugurates “Chuni Lal Bhawan”

    Urges Civil Society to take care of families of soldiers

    Jammu: Governor N.N. Vohra inaugurated the “Chuni Lal Bhawan” at the Rajya Sainik Board office complex, Ambphalla, Jammu. This Sainik Bhawan has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 2.63 crore with equal support from the Central and the State Governments. He dedicated this complex as a lodging facility for use by ex-Servicemen.

    Governor  complimented Brigadier Harcharan Singh (Retd.), Director Rajya Sainik Board, on the completion of the Sainik Bhawan and observed that more such facilities should be created for the convenience of ex-Servicemen and their families. He stressed that the momentum gained with the completion of this project should be sustained for promoting welfare of the ex-Servicemen and their families.

    He observed that all efforts are being made to address the concerns of non-pensioner widows. To actively contribute in all possible ways, Governor observed that it is the duty of the civil society to come forward for supporting the families of soldiers who are ever ready to sacrifice their lives for the safety and security of the country.

    He presented Certificates of Appreciation to Smt. Chinta Devi, and Surinder Kour, and Sonam, Col Raksh Goel, Col Vijay Yadav, Hav. Rashid War, the representatives of Phonix Academy, donors of financial help for non pensioner widows, Col V. Sahi and Col. Shamlal Dogra for providing voluntary SSB coaching to children. He also presented one time incentive cheques to 10 Non pensioner widows.

    Brigadier Harcharan Singh (Retd.), Director Rajya Sainik Board; Capt. Bana Singh; Vikram Randhawa, MLC; R.S. Chib, former Minister; Brigadier (Retd.) Langeh, former Director Rajya Sainik Board were among those dignitaries present on the occasion.
