SRINAGAR: The People Democratic Party have lambasted the government for preventing their leaders from holding a meeting in accordance with covid19 SOPs.

As per available reports several leaders of PDPP were not allowed to step out of their respective residences by the cops to attend the meeting called by party general secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura at the headquarters in Srinagar on Thursday.

The PDP leaders who were barred from attending the meeting include Naeem Akhtar, GNL Hanjura, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Khurshid Alam, Aijaz Mir, Waheed Rehman Para, and Mohammad Yousuf Bhat.

The leaders posted videos of them being disallowed from leaving their homes by security personnels.

In a tweet where PDP shared its leader Hanjura being held back by police, PDP wrote: “Exposed!! Administration that brazenly lied and misled Hon’ble High Court. Here General Secretary GNL Hanjura Sb not allowed to proceed further to attend the party meeting.”

Naeem Akhtar reacting to cops who prevented him from moving out from his residence tweets “Despite being free on paper and in govt submissions in HC and SC, PDP Leadership continues to be under illegal detention, without any official orders”
