JAMMU: Reacting to the news item published by JKGN on Feb 13 pertaining to encroachment of residential road with impunity in Qasim Nagar JDA colony by cabs owner, the police swung into action and cleared the road from encroachers.
Encroachment was removed by SHO Bagh e Bahu Police station under the supervision of SDPO City East.
Pertinent to mentioned here that the residents of Qasim Nagar have time and again apprised JKGN about the silence of police against taxi drivers who illegally occupied the lone road entrance of the colony by parking their autos.
Almost an year ago the owners of mini cabs intrude inside the colony and convert it’s road into cabs parking by encroaching upon half of the road.
While appreciating the police move, Khem Raj Sharma, a resident of the colony said “We have sigh of relief and hope these cab drivers of illegal auto stand wouldn’t dare to reappear”.
Though late, it’s a welcome move, said another residents namely Rajesh Singh. “If police wants not even a single Rehri can encroached upon road side as every police officer is empowered to act against those who encroached upon roads” added Rajesh.
With intervention of sensible police officers sitting at the helm, this is beginning of “Achei Din” for the residents of Qasim Nagar, asserts Radhika Gupta, a college going student and a resident of the Qasim Nagar. She extends her gratitude to the police for visible atmosphere of feeling secure in the area.
