Jammu: Finally, the no nonsense Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Pankaj Magotra has dared to act against two officers of enforcement wing on allegations of corruption.

Reliable sources disclosed that after hectic deliberations amidst pulls and pressure from Mayor as well as Deputy Mayor chambers, the commissioner acts as per his conscious and issued order of suspension of Assistant Enforcement Officer Ravinder Sharma and Inspector Ramesh Wazir pending enquiry.

Both the suspended officers were assigned duties to report any violation in constructions in Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Satwari area.

While Ravinder Sharma is real brother of Deputy Mayor and Ramesh Wazir reportedly close confident of Mayor.

Sources said” Since yesterday meeting comprising JMC Commissioner Pankaj Magotra, Joint commissioner (A) Ashish Gupta and Sunaina Mehta, Secretary JMC was going on to initiate action against Ravinder Sharma and Ramesh Wazir.”

But despite prolong meet, the trio fails to arrive at any descision due to pressure from certain quarters, sources disclosed.

However, on day second -today, Magotra made up his mind after prolong consultation with It Commissioner as well as Secretary and shown the right place to the duo facing allegations of corruption on account of abbeting unauthorised constructions in their assigned areas.

Jt Commissioner (A) Ashish Gupta made enquiry officer for further action against the suspended officers as per the norms, said sources.

It’s worth to mentioned here that JKGN has started a campaign regarding wide spread illegal constructions  for some pecuniary  benefit in areas which were assigned to these two suspended officials.

The JKGN campaign further vindicated when a BJP corporator from ward number 23  in house meet openly also blamed the commissioner JMC for shielding enforcement inspector posted in Gandhi Nagar who is encouraging illegal constructions for money.

Unable to counter his own party corporator, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta dramatically suspended teh house and left the house in hush hush manner.
