Jammu: Flambuyount over dillegence on part of Jammu Development Authority, the government land located at prime locations in city worth crores is encroached upon by everyone with impunity.
In recent case, a room was constructed on a piece of land measuring 10×10 sqft at prime location in Indira Chowk by the department of PDD.
Sources revealed that this land belongs to JDA and the PDD sans land ownership has forcefully raised a residential structure.
This is a willful financial loss to the state as otherwise the PDD can owned this land after paying premium to the JDA, said sources.
Even, the Jammu Municipal Corporation had also denied permission sought by PDD to built a residential accommodation for its staff on this government land citing absence of land title.
Apprehending use of this accomodation under construction at Indira Chowk later for commercial purpose several residents of the area also complained to the Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma.
Acting on the direction of Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, the JMC has has stopped the unauthorised construction which also seen as a hurdle in the way of beautification of Jammu city.
On being contacted AEE of PDD Division 1 Ratneesh Puri contested this construction and said” The structure is being raised after obtaining permission from VC JDA and it’s only for the purpose of rest room for lineman so that they can be readily available to general public at odd hours. Presently, there is no accomodation available to the lineman in area as the old one located at old bus stand was discontinued in the wake of reconstruction of bus stand few years ago, he added
On this grave development, JKGN tried it’s best to contact VC JDA Vikas Sharma but he didn’t respond to our calls.
