A senior bureaucrat identified as Dr. Raj Kumar Thappa was killed after Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling in Rajouri areas on early Saturday morning.
Dr. Thappa, a 2001 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service officer was posted as additional district development commissioner and critically injured when Pakistan artillery shells hit his official residence at Rajouri. He was immediately shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to fatal injuries.
