Jammu: Facing suspension on account of serious allegation of corruption, the two enforcement inspectors of Jammu Municipal Corporation have allegedly roped in brokers to influence enquiry in their favour.
Reliable sources in JMC disclosed that one broker on behalf of two attached enforcement inspectors namely Ramesh Wazir and Gopal Krishan Gupta are in regular touch with senior JMC officers to manage clean chit for suspended enforcement inspectors.
If sources are to believed, few days back ACR (Revenue) who also holds additional charge of Chief Enforcement Officer (Jammu city area) have ordered posting of attached Ramesh Wazir to important areas of old Jammu city as enforcement inspector.
However, the Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra took serious note of it and instantly cancelled the order.
It’s worth to mentioned here that Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra had to face huge embarassment in 6th house meet of JMC when BJP corporator Pawan Singh openly criticized him for shielding enforcement inspector Ramesh Wazir for corrupt practices.
It’s worth to mentioned here that both Ramesh Wazir and Gopal Krishna were attached/suspended for encouraging illegal commercial as well as residential constructions in their respective alloted JMC wards allegedly by accepting huge amount.
As per reports, the normal rate list of enforcement inspectors for sitting silent on conversion of residence into commercial structure in old Jammu city is 5 to 8 lakh while the rate for allowing shutter along roadside ranges from Rs 2 to 4 lakh depending upon the location and area of the city.
When contacted both the enquiry officers have denied of any influence and said ” The corrupt enforcement inspectors will face the consequences for their wrong deeds”.
But, one of the enquiry officer eludes response to JKGN query as to why an abortive attempt was made to shower suspended Ramesh Wazir again with prize posting despite the fact that he is facing serious allegations of corruption”
