Jammu: Jammu Municipal Corporation has taken leap forward with a unique innovative measure to ensure its citizen security with installation of CCTV cameras in nook and corner of the city.
The project which has been vigorously pushed by the Deputy Mayor JMC Purnima Sharma is aimed at creating security grid in Jammu using modern technology aiming at securing the safety and property of general public.
In this regard, the JMC has signed MoU with Government of India undertaking ITI limited which will supply CCTV cameras alongwith essential kit to the interested residents of Jammu at a nominal price of Rs 10,000.
As per available details, the amount of Rs 10,000 will charged at easy installments.
Insiders in JMC said” Its a welcome initiative and the credit for its implementation goes to Dy Mayor Sharma”
In market CCTV installation normally costs 25 to 30,000 and in such scenario JMC deserves appreciation for coming out with a move to distribute citizens with CCTV grid for home security at subsidised rate besides provision of payment in easy installments, said an officer of JMC.
