JAMMU: The Lieutenant Governor G.C.Murmu today appointed retired bureaucrat and son of the soil B.R.Sharma as Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma also remianed as Chief Secretary of J&K before moving to centre of deputation. He will hold the post of Chairman till attaining the age of 62 years.
Many political leaders especially Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, a former minister and two time MLA from Darhal was vociferously demanding activation of JKPSC in the UT JK as lakhs of educated youth were feeling dejected due to non filling of thousands of gazetted posts were held up due to disbanding of PSC after the abrogation of 370 in state on August last year.
Zulfikar asserted that with appointment of JKPSC Chairman, the state administrative council now gear up the men and machine to accelerate the process of recruitment of gazetted posts so as to retore the confidence of educated youth who were waiting since past one year.
It was our long pending demand, added Zulfikar.
