Delhi: The weather department has issued a thunderstorm warning for more than 10 states across north India. The storm alert comes days after massive dust storm that wreaked havoc in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan killing over 100 people.

On Monday, as precautionary measure, schools across Haryana will remain shut today and tomorrow.

The state’s revenue and disaster management department advised citizens to be alert on Monday and Tuesday.

Citing an advisory issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, the Union home ministry officials said that Delhi, its adjoining areas and parts of western Uttar Pradesh are likely to see thunderstorm and squall.

Last week, the weather department had sounded a thunderstorm and rain alert in Delhi and neighbouring states for the next three days. Delhi, Greater Noida, Faridabad are expected to get rains. Parts of western Uttar Pradesh like Meerut, Hapur, among other, too will see a thunderstorm with rain, according to the Met department.
