Jammu: Prime Minister zero tolerance on corruption seemingly no care taker in Jammu Municipal Corporation where reportedly attempts are being made to shield one enforcement inspector who has earned distinction for encouraging Illegal constructions in Shastri Nagar, Satwari and Gandhi Nagar areas.
Dramatic adjournment of 6th general House meeting of Urban Local Body amidst uprour over allegations of rampant corruption against one influential Inspector posted in Gandhi Nagar stands testimony to the fact that he enjoys patronage of some influential person.
The serious allegations in the ULB house which left the Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta as well as Pankaj Magotra, Commissioner JMC in a fix has assumed more significance as the vocal corporator Pawan Singh who raised the matter of corruption in the house belongs to the BJP party, said corporator Amit.
It’s worth to mention here that BJP corporator Pawan Singh has raised the matter of selective targetting of illegal constructions and allowing the same after negotiation between the defaulters and one enforcement inspector posted in ward number 23 in the house.
Feeling embarassed, Pankaj Magotra, JMC Commissioner immediately asked Pawan Singh to disclose the name of enforcement inspector in the house
Upon this, feeling red faced Mayor C.M.Gupta instantly intervened and urged his own party corporator Pawan Singh to sit down with an assurance of high level enquiry into it.
Sensing cover up operation by Mayor, the independent and Congress party corporators stood up and storm the well of the house protesting the clever efforts of BJP Mayor to protect the enforcement inspector in dock.
Interestingly, unable to respond appropriately to the protesting independent and Congress corporators on a serious matter which ironically was raised by none other than a BJP corporator, the Mayor adjourn the house and left the house in haste.
Pertinently, Ramesh Wazir for the past one year is looking after Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Satwari area where large scale illegal constructions is going on allegedly after exchange of hefty amounts.
Rumours also doing the rounds in corridors of JMC and Jammu city that Ramesh Wazir enjoys patronage of Mayor and Commissioner JMC Pankaj Magotra, said a another corporator.
In addition to this Ramesh Wazir also brags of his alleged links with hardcore criminals and mafia with an abortive bid to silent his critics in society and media.
Whatever, the ball is now in Mayor’s court and upright JMC Commissioner Pankaj Magotra have to come clean on serious allegations levelled by an elected corporator of BJP namely Pawan Singh.
