JAMMU: History is under way in Union Territory J&K to set right the wrong precedence practised in corridors of power to favour blue eyed officers by fiddling with seniority at the cost of deserving KAS officers.
It’s learnt that, the Lieutenant Governor G.C.Murmu has directed the government to reset the entire seniority list of KAS officers with an approach of universal justice to each and everyone who suffered long on account of rampant manipulation in the past in finalising the seniority by twisting slots of feeder departments.
Perturbed over Raj Bhawan approach in percolating the recommendations of the panel up to bottom level, a coterie of powerful officers who are sticking to the corridors of power in civil secretariat since long has geared its men and machinery to scuttle the endeavours of LG and Chief Secretary BVR Subramanyam, reveals highly placed sources.
This devious move is to protect those blue eyed officers who climbed the ladder of success in career by butchering seniority of several genuine officers.
The lobby comprising of backdoor entrants in KAS as well as their masters in civil secreteriat are burning mid night oil to intact the blue eyed backdoor entrant officers seniority, said a highly placed sources.
These backdoor entrants will remain protected if seniority re-draws only up to certain period of time, further added sources.
The four member panel comprising officers of impeccable integrity after examining the facts and deliberations with the stake holders had submitted its report to the government.
“We notice grave irregularities in the existing seniority list and recommended for redrawing the entire seniority so that every aggrieved officers whose seniority was butchered in the past gets justice, asserted one member of panel.
The competent authority vide order No 610-JK(GAD) of 2020, dated 29/05/2020 while accepting the recommendations of the committee has further empowered the committee to redraw seniority list of officers inducted into KAS between 1.1.2004 to 1.12.2008.
The mess and discrimination will still continues to exist if the relief of the recommendation remained confined only upto 2008.
There is no denying the fact that due to repeated fiddling with seniority list every officer who inducted into KAS through genuine means remained affected.
Indeed, there can never be two yard sticks- one for those affected till 2008 and swcond for those inducted after 2008, avers another KAS officer.
If some wrongs happened at top level it have cascading effects where everyone get hit from top to bottom, he added.
It’s learnt that the Raj Bhawan is prepared to end this discrimination meted out to KAS officers due to glaring irregularities committed from time to time to favour some blue eyed persons.
But, the Raj Bhawan should also take notice of a powerful lobby who is hell bend to foil the right spirited move of LG aimed at setting record straight pertaining to the mess created in KAS seniority so as to infuse vigour among the aggrieved demoralised officers which mostly hails from Jammu region.
