JAMMU : The Raj Bhawan has approved the candidature of Dr. Mohammad Mobin for appointment as new Vice-chancellor of Cluster University of Srinagar.
Highly placed reliable sources told JK Global News that the Chancellor of the varsity, LG Manoj Sinha has approved name of Dr Mobin from a panel of 3 candidates recommended by the search committee. His tenure as VC will be for 3 years from the date Dr Mobin assumed the office of VC.
Dr Mobin is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, London and currently working as Professor in the department of Applied Chemistry in Aligarh Muslim University.
With illustrious academic career, Prof. Mobin specializes in the area of Materials and Corrosion has supervised 17 PhD and 7 post-doctoral students besides authored 182 research papers and 38 book chapters and edited 4 books.
He has also completed 40 research projects which include 8 academic, 4 industrial and 28 trouble shooting projects. Three research projects are under international collaboration with AB Alvenius Industrier, Sweden, EBARA Research, Japan and Rezayat Kemica Protection Coating, Saudi Arabia.
Prof. Mobin is Member of American Chemical Society, NACE International (USA), International Desalination Association (USA), Life Member, Indian Society of Analytical Scientists DC, and Fellow, Society for Advancement of Electrochemical Sci. & Tech. (India).
For his outstanding contribution in the field of Materials and Corrosion Prof. Mobin has been conferred with 3 national awards namely, NCCI (National Corrosion Council of India) Meritorious Award 2023, AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance, USA) India Chapter “Meritorious Contribution in Research & Education” Award 2022 and NACE International India Section Corrosion Awareness Award 2007.
