SRINAGAR: Former Minister and Vice President Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Usman Majid opposed the Government move of re-employing retired engineers in Rural Development Department on contractual basis.

Majid said, While the unemployment graph in Jammu and Kashmir continues to swell, in such a condition the government move to recruit retired Engineers is furthering joblessness in the UT & is gross injustice towards the unemployed engineers.

There are more than 70000 educated unemployed engineers in the UT who are in a state of distress with no employment opportunities. The government must give chance to the unemployed engineers to hold the key positions in RDD. This is the way to remove deadwood & rejuvenate administration, Majid Said

Majid urged the LG Administrationis to kindly review this decision and engage the unemployed engineers first.
