    SNCF organizes blood donation camps on ‘Manav Ekta Diwas’

    Jammu: In continuation with its tradition of celebrating Manav Ekta Diwas / Human Unity Day every year on 24th April since 1981 as a mark of respect to Baba Gurbachan Singh who laid down his life while crusading for the noble cause of truth, love, peace and human unity, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) today organized 83 Blood Donation Camps all across India.

    In Jammu the camp was held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, where more than 300 donors registered and 230 were declared medically fit for donation. 

    The camp was inaugurated by the chief guest, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly and Dr Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary who was guest of honour on the occasion

    Speaking on the occasion, Speaker appreciated the enthusiasm of the donors and congratulated the Nirankari Mission for their matchless contribution towards society. 

    Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge, Zone 1, Jammu & Kashmir said that the devotees take inspiration from Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj who desired that nobody should die due to the shortage of blood and “blood should flow in veins and not in drains”. Since 1986, the Mission has organised 5,560, blood donation camps across the country and donated 9,52,502 units of blood. During 2017-18, the Foundation organised 514 camps where 83,341 units of blood were donated.

     Other dignitaries presented on the occasion include Sarita Chauhan, IAS, Chairperson J&K Special Tribunal. B R Lachotra Former Director General Planning

     The blood camp was held in collaboration with blood & transfusion deptt. of Govt. Medical College, Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society And JKSACS.
