Visual Evidence Puts BOCA Violations in JMC South Under Lens

An under-construction commercial structure in Greater Kailash is allegedly coming up without building permission or Change of Land Use (CLU) approval. Sources in the anti-graft body claim that Rs 5–8 lakh is allegedly charged for patronising each storey of an illegal commercial building in this prime locality. The alleged exchange of such hefty amounts to shield multi-level illegal structures in one of Jammu’s most expensive areas raises serious concerns over enforcement and accountability.

Reportedly, a multi-level fresh construction is being raised over an existing G+1 bar and restaurant . Even if the new construction is being carried out as per the approved plan, it raises serious questions over the authority’s decision to grant approval for a multi-storey commercial structure along NHW-44 in Sainik Colony, despite the site being completely devoid of parking facilities. The manner in which the NOC was allegedly procured from the Jammu Municipal Corporation in the past also warrants investigation.
Structures raised discreetly behind extraordinarily large advertisements are self-explanatory.
How this massive shed structure atop reportedly a commercial building along NHW-44 in Sainik Colony escaped the attention of the JMC enforcement wing remains a million-dollar question, especially when an officer who regularly travelled through this route was well aware of the site.
