SEPTEMBER: Leader of Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Omar Abdullah-led government, alleging large-scale irregularities and corruption in the outsourcing of jobs in several government departments in the Union Territory.
Speaking to media persons outside the Assembly on the opening day of the Autumn Session, Sharma alleged that outsourcing had become a major source of concern for unemployed youth, with around 25,000 jobs already filled through the process.
He claimed that workers associated with the National Conference and their relatives were allegedly involved in outsourcing Job racket.
Further, speaking on the issue, Sharma made it clear that the BJP was not opposed to outsourcing as a policy, but questioned the manner in which it was being implemented. He demanded a transparent recruitment mechanism, clearly defined eligibility criteria and a system that gives unemployed youth a fair opportunity rather than leaving appointments to agencies or informal networks.
Launching a scathing attack on Omar’s Government over resentment prevailing among protesting employees of various departments, Sharma accused the Omar led administration of failing to resolve the concerns of NHM employees, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, JKSSB aspirants and other sections awaiting policy decisions.
