Biased, irresponsible media defames Dogra’s rich culture: DSS

Jammu: The Dogra Sadar Sabha has expresed deep concern about the deteriorating atmosphere in otherwise peaceful region of Jammu.

In its core group meeting which was also attended by members of All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF), the president of the DSS Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak has expressed anguish over the prevailing situation in the state which is vitiating the communal harmony of the region.

All members in one voice expressed grave concern on the deliberate wicked design to disturb the peaceful secular fabric and inter-communal co-existence, brotherhood and age old traditional accommodative culture of the Dogra region with a view to break the homogeneity of the region and fish out polarized vote bank affiliations from troubled waters.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal said that tnomadic gujjar bakkarwals have been part of Jammu society and the Kathua conspiracy is aimed at falsely fabricating a situation to demolish traditional local affinities and the unfortunate victim is our daughter who paid the price for the neafrious designs of the communal elements hell bent to spoil the state. “we don’t need crocodile tear shedders but a fair, impartial high level investigation to punish the real criminals”,he added.

Members observed that Kathua conspiracy came closely on the heels of the CMs unlawful direction for the police not to assist evacuation of nomads from govt/private lands encroached by them and after rough handling of genuine demands from Naushera and Rajouri. Non development of Jammu based tourism and planned apathy towards maintenance of Jammu heritage sites and discrimination galore in allocations, placements, education, funds, jobs and education opportunities are part of the same game plan.

Gulchain Singh strongly denounced the Chief Ministers’ libelous declarations and The President of India’s endorsement about the Kathua conspiracy case, well before the court’s verdict. He also raised about the credibility of Crime branch for partial investigation into the case.

He further said that the ‘paid propaganda’ machinery and some sections of local and national media have done great injustice in misrepresenting the case based on evil motive hearsay. The damage they have caused by heinous fabricated allegations to the image, and ethos on the God fearing, simple and soft spoken Dogras comprising all local communities and to the very culture of Dogriyat is irreparable.

It cannot be mitigated even after the truth unveils, sooner than later and actual culprits are exposed,he added.

The DSS called for stringiest possible exemplary punishment to the actual criminals up to the maximum permitted limit under law of the land.
