    Cyber Police Jammu busted Insurance fraud gang, Rs 10 lakhs recovered

    JAMMU:The Cyber Police Jammu today unearthed gang involved in commission of insurance fraud case and thereby duping citizens of their hard earned money and succeeded in arresting three  fraudsters from Bijnor, UP and recovered looted to the tune of Rs10 Lacs.

    As per available reports, acting on complainant of Maidul Islam who was duped by fraudesters decoying as representatives of Max Insurance Company and lured the complainant by offering him bonus amount and subsequently convinced the complainant to deposit fee to claim the due insurance bonus and eventually duped the complainant with an amount of Rs 10 Lacs in multiple transactions.

    On this, case FIR no 04/2021 got registered at Cyber Police Station Jammu.

    During the course of investigation, transactions involved were scrutinized and accordingly details were sought from concerned banks for the details of the account holders and in the process one account of Allahabad Bank branch Bijnor, UP have been surfaced in which approximate Rs 6.5 Lacs of defrauded amount was credited. Accordingly, concerned bank branch Manager was contacted and details as provided by the branch manager revealed that account was registered on the name of Mohd Gulsher S/o Iddu R/o Village Gopalpur Tehsil and Distt Bijnor UP age 32 years. Instantly based on the account details and analysis of the mobile records of accused , Police succeeded in locating the accused in Bijnor area of UP and accordingly team of Cyber Police Station Jammu led by Inspector Manoj Gupta, I/O of the instant case under the supervision of DySP Cyber Vaseem Hamdani and overall directions and guidelines of SP Cyber Sh Naresh Singh rushed to Bijnor. After strenuous efforts along with the help of Local Police, team succeeded in rounding up three suspects. During sustained questioning, accused confessed their crime. The accused have been identified as Mohd Gulsher S/o Iddu R/o Village Gopalpur Tehsil and Distt Bijnor UP age 32 years, VikasS/o Munish R/o Village Simla Tehsil and Distt Bijnor UP age 27 years, Dilshad S/o Rahishu Din R/o Mohiuddinpur Tehsil and Distt. Bijnor UP.

    Further investigation is going on to ascertain the involvement of accused involved in other cases.

    Pertinent to mention here that Cyber Police Jammu has earlier also arrested one more accused in similar type of fraud case from lucknow in case FIR no 06/2021 stands registered at cyber police station jammu.  A total of four fraudsters have been arrested in insurance fraud cases by Cyber Police Jammu.

    Further, the Cyber Police Jammu has made fervent appeal to general Public not to share bank OTP , UPI PIN etc and never get lured with cheap online offers floating on social media and other online platforms offering products with unjustified price.

    Besides never completely rely on information like customer care numbers , fake links etc floating on web space which often pop up on your screen as part of search results history on search engines. Review periodically security of your online accounts. Stay alert and vigilant against these online fraudsters.
