JAMMU: The district administration Jammu under the supervision of District Magistrate, Avny Lavasa on Wednesday carried anti encroachment drive in Chowadhi area and retrieved 150 kanals of prime land worth crores from the possession of notorious land grabbers.
ADC L&O Minga Sherpa; SSP Chandan Kohli; SDM South, Abhishek Abrol; DLM JDA Vivek Modi; Tehsildar Bahu, Rohit Sharma and other senior officers from Police and Revenue departments were also present on the occasion.
As per available reports, with the assistance of police the anti encroachment drive was carried in Khasara No 1531 wherein 150 Kanal 17 Marla state land retrieved and out of which 70 Kanal land was handed over to JDA.
Stating that the J&K government has adopt zero tolerance against the encroachment, Avny instructed the concerned officials to take strict action against encroachers of the state land.
She asked the officers from police and revenue to stay vigilant against the encroachment and take immediate cognisance of attempts by land grabbers to encroach upon state land.
